This time of year is special to Jeffrey and Kathi, because they became engaged in late May. They discuss the night they got engaged (way back in 1983), the joy they felt during their engagement and early marriage, and the importance of remembering beautiful times in our lives.
They share how they have been strengthened in hope through the years, even during times of difficulty, as they remember God’s kindness in bringing them together.
Our Lord creates markers of beauty in our lives that provide a sure foundation for first love, enabling us to maintain trust and hope in our covenant-keeping God despite the darkness in this world.
We do not hide our heads in the sand, but we keep our attention focused on beauty and majesty of the King who has all authority and who holds our lives in his hands!
One thing I have desired of the LORD,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple.For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
Psalm 27:4-6
